Friends and Children

It is with no small sense of pride that I look upon my own children. Most of the time. I find myself falling into that David Cross bit about the parents who felt it necessary to go into great detail about how their child stared at a grape. But seriously, my children are that interesting. More interesting, however, is that we seem to be finding ourselves used as a litmus test by child baring friends.
"Can we really do this? Let’s watch Team Church for awhile. They seem to have survived a couple of years now." I wish I could give insight and wisdom into our “peculiar condition” but I got nothin’. At best I can offer the notion that all of my parenting instinct (as I don’t presume to speak for Jana’s mad skills) is purely based on my survival to the next minute, hour and day. I am sure that at various times we have given friends and acquaintances quiet reassurance, situational troubleshooting tips, and dripping, screaming, recurrent nightmares and thoughts of turning back. That said, the kids are getting to be fun. Most of the time. It was great seeing so many of you this past week.

Hey Check out my kids (on someone else's blog)

At least someone posts about my children. Worst father/blogger ever. (Two posts 8/10, 8/12...seriously, worst father ever)
