Wish you were here...

All is quiet on the Alaskan Front today. I can't say enough about how wonderful Jackson is. The dogs have adjusted fairly well. Sammy is rather indifferent with the exception of embracing all the wonderful smelss he makes. Maggie seems to be some kind of surrogate mother, appearing stressed out when he begins to make noises or whine, and she sticks her nose over the top of his crib just to check in. He has affectionately become their "Li'l Brudder" because is is "such a trooper". He's gonna make it on his own.

In other news we lost our second league game in Ultimate, again by a last minute, very questionable point. It seems that a couple of people up here have really learned "the spirit of the game." League has been good. It is surprisingly a lower level of competitiveness than was found in Tucson and there aren't as many folks who have crazy mad skills to make the rest of us look bad. Imagine a team of people who play about my level, but are a bit younger than the folks in Tucson league. I'm having a good time and meeting new people. I am also finding myself playing with the little brothers and sisters of people with whom I went to high school. Moving back home is very strange. Trying to recognize people 10 to 15 years removed has kept me occupied.
